Text Display

Text Display of changes is a simple list of all text on the page that has been inserted or deleted.

Text Display of changes works in combination with the visual display when changes are hard to detect on the Visual screen, sometimes changes are detected that are not immediately evident in the Visual Display. Changes can be hidden in menus, drop down boxes, hover fields, pop up windows and forms etc. If changes have been indicated in the retrieval (by having a Text Display and Visual Display icon) and they are not exposed, open the Text Display to see a simple list.

Example of the Text Display 1

Below are two screenshots, on the left is the Visual Display of detected changes, on the right is the corresponding Text Display of the detected changes. The site we are tracking here is a news site which has many changes on a daily basis as such it is an excellent test site for Diffserver. The areas in the Visual Display with the blue background and white text are newly inserted content, the yellow background with red text indicates deleted text.

All changes indicated in the Visual Display have a corresponding entry in the Text Display window.
